I haven't listened to enough of their new one, Perfect Symmetry, to form a judgment yet.hearsmusichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17147855587676499841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10091676.post-73711037726056821342008-12-12T10:57:00.000-05:002008-12-12T10:57:00.000-05:00Virginia Plain by Roxy Music - a song from my seco...Virginia Plain by Roxy Music - a song from my second favorite movie ever, Velvet Goldmine. I have never experienced anything else in my life like seeing Eddie Vedder swinging his microphone around and Mike McCready playing his guitar behind his head. This song brings back some great memories, and hopefully more to come in 2009.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10091676.post-42598477712103410502008-12-12T10:38:00.000-05:002008-12-12T10:38:00.000-05:00You Don't Know Me - B.B. It completely brought it to light for me. See Doug has a much nicer singing voice than Billy Corgan and Mayonaise became this absolutely gorgeous song. But there is something great about the shoegaze aspects to the original mix off of Siamese Dream. Ultimately, this 1993 album is fantastic.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10091676.post-72357292546494123252008-12-12T09:38:00.000-05:002008-12-12T09:38:00.000-05:00If I Should Fall Behind, Bruce Springsteen, In Con...If I Should Fall Behind, Bruce Springsteen, In Concert: MTV Plugged

Not one of Springsteen's better-known songs, either popularly or to me personally. I like it for being a realistic love song. Rather than the typical "we'll never let go of each other" or "nothing can separate us," he sings:

"Now everyone dreams of a love | lasting and true | But you and I know what this world can do | So let's make our steps clear that the other may see | And I'll wait for you | If I should fall behind | Wait for me."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10091676.post-9336707765903090772008-12-12T09:37:00.000-05:002008-12-12T09:37:00.000-05:00Headlights Look Like Diamonds by The Arcade FireTh...Headlights Look Like Diamonds by The Arcade Fire
This is off of their EP. This was the first and only George Michael album I owned (back on cassette tape), and listened to it incessantly for a few months. It particularly fit in with the beginning of the First Gulf War (which began shortly after the album's release), and I remember hoping and praying that I wouldn't have to go to war, myself.Jeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06319271692350781877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10091676.post-20988379523619502008-12-12T09:30:00.000-05:002008-12-12T09:30:00.000-05:00Come Together by The BeatlesProbably the most comp...Come Together by The Beatles
Probably the most complicated drumbeat Ringo Starr ever played haha.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
